Steep "Stairs Gallery"
The "Steeps Stairs" gallery is located in the attic and thanks to its particular atmosphere it is a special place to organize unforgettable art events. It holds exhibitions of the work of contemporary artists from across Poland and abroad. The gallery has been active since 1988 and so far has held over 120 individual and group exhibitions including the paintings of Władysław Hasior, Franciszek Maśluszczak, Kiejstut Bereźnicki, Włodzimierz Łajming, Janusz Akerman, Teresa Miszkin, Hugon Lasecki, Krzysztof Grzesiak and many others. The drawings and graphics of Gunter Grass and Tadeusz Kulisiewicz have been shown as has the work of artists from a German arts centre in the "Art from Rinteln" exhibition whilst textile exhibitions have included the work of Aldona Tarwajnis, Małgorzata Żerwe, Ewa Rosiek-Buszko and others. The gallery also hosts and co-organises international exhibitions such as the Graphics Triennial and thanks to its co-operation with French and German galleries many exhibitions showing the work of international artists have been possible.
The gallery's location along a well-frequented tourist route attracts both national and foreign artists and visitors adding to its prestige and importance.
